Willbros 318,Barges WB 82, SPSL 215, African Sea Worker visited almost all oil field location such as Unam, Ubit, Mfem, Oso,
Ekpe, Edop, Etim, Inim, Asabo, Idaho, Asasa,Usari, Utae. At times wind was very high, waves moving up to 6-7 feet. Uproar
of splasing zone noise was high. Dynamic environment posed a real threat to employees- particularly, unskilled labourers who
were locals.
WB 318,Housed a Clinic manned by qualified doctor, Blasting booth, Heavy lifting crane, Pipelay facility, Diving facility,Dark room, Work space, Store & Mess hall with surveyor cabin atop.Also, a serviceable Helipad with SAT phone facility.
Dropped Object Hazards were high. Particularly, when pipes, ropes & chains falling down due to heavy waves from open shelves and racks.Its needless to explain the risk when the dropped objects hit risers & other connected instruments. Its effect & consequence on property,environment & personnel are abhorable & unacceptable to standards. |
